Dr. David B. Miller
received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Illinois College
of Dentistry in 1980. After practicing for one year in the Bay Area, he moved to
Sacramento in 1981 to join Sacramentos oldest continuously operating dental
practice. A strong believer in continuing education, especially for general
dentists, he has taken over 3000 hours of
advanced training since dental school. As a general dentist, Dr. Miller belongs to numerous professional groups,
including the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the
Sacramento District Dental Society, the Academy
of General Dentistry and the American
Association for Functional Orthodontics. He was the first general dentist from Sacramento
to complete the course work in Advanced Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious L. D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental
Education in Florida.
A Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and of the American Orthodontic Society,
Dr. Miller has earned advanced standing in numerous professional organizations. He holds
Fellowships in the American Academy of
Head, Neck and Facial Pain (AAHNFP) and the International College of
Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics (ICCMO), the worlds premiere societies for the study of TMJ (Jaw Joint)
disorders. Dr. Miller is as a Diplomate of the American
Academy of Pain Management (AAPM) and earned recently Diplomate status
with the American Board of Orofacial Pain (ABOP). The ABOP is the
independent
certifying body for the proposed specialty in the diagnosis and treatment of
TMJ/Orofacial Pain. Currently, the is no specialty in the field of
TMJ/Orofacial Pain. With the Fellowships in the AAHNFP and ICCMO, and being
a Diplomate of the AAPM and ABOP, Dr. David Miller has completed the
"Grand Slam of TMJ", holding advanced standing in the four major
TMJ organizations.
Dr. David Miller is active as an author and lecturer. He has published
articles on Clinical Aspects of Chronic Pain, Neurology of TMJ Pain, Head and Neck
Anatomy, Trauma to the Jaw Joints (TMJ), Restorative Dentistry, Medical-Legal (Forensic)
Issues, and Clinical Diagnosis, Documentation and Treatment of Temporomandibular Joint
(TMJ) and Chronic Head and Neck Pain.
